Detective Curtis: Well, well, well. I was a bit afraid that getting the team back together would mean that Sofia Curtis would
be kicked to the curb. She was a great addition to last year's cast. Luckily she's now a detective -- those forensics skills
should come in handy.

Ready with a diagnosis: Blinky is slow to get up when Sofia and Warrick are interviewing him about Julian Harper's murder.
And they wonder what exactly he's trying to hide under his robe. "I've got the angle of the dangle going," explains
Blinky, "The boing, boing, boing." Turns out he's taken a Viagra-like drug. "I've been pitching a tent for
eight hours." Sofia is quick to tell him that what he's suffering from is a priaprism. Has she encountered this before?

Do UNLV students protest? Many, many of you have made it clear that you do not like Sofia. I disagree. Despite her bad American
accent, she's a great addition. She was part of my favorite moment tonight when she interviewed the students about victim
Matthew thingyens. They told her that he was a religious-studies major and Trekkie who spent most of his time getting stoned
(as if these two don't?). When she asked why they didn't think it was strange that he and Emma suddenly disappeared, the one
guy said, "They said they were going to some better place." And the other added, "I thought they meant UCLA."
Classic.

Don't shoot the messenger: When Grissom won't respond to his pager, Ecklie sent Sofia to find him. This brief appearance
seemed to ruffle Sara a bit. And get ready, all you Sofia haters, she is going to play a prominent role in the next two episodes.

Did she do it?: Could Sofia accidentally have shot Officer Bell? It definitely seems as though she might have. And she
even doubts herself. She is sure that the suspect she shot when she was with Officer Davis definitely had his gun raised.
Could this be the end of Sofia's detective career, or will Grissom and gang be able to bail her out?

Will she be the same? Sofia was sure that she was the one who shot Bell, so much so that she couldn't sleep. She looked
grateful to be cleared in Bell's shooting, but will she be able to face a scene like that again? When she thought she was
the shooter, she told Brass, "I'm always going to be the cop who shot a cop." At Officer Bell's funeral, you could
see how much she felt for Brass.

Passive-aggressive Olympics? Sofia was openly hostile to Sara when she took so long to get to the abandoned phone booth.
She even started doing the job of a CSI, dusting for prints herself. Did Sara not return Sofia's calls on purpose? It seems
obvious that these two don't like each other. There's a whole spate of Sara supporters who read these recaps -- they're convinced
I hate her as much as Sofia seems to. Heck, I'm just waiting for these two to throw down.

No sucker for charm: Sofia tracked down Tad, who had been in Tijuana and L.A. When she asked for his cellphone number,
he grinned at her. "Going to ask me out?" Tad didn't stand a chance. CSI fans know that Sofia's saving herself for
Grissom.

Hard day at work: When the reality show producer asked Sofia, "You were a CSI and now do you’re a detective.
Which side do you prefer?" She replied, "We're on the same side." But it looked like she was wishing she was
back dealing with clinical evidence when faced with interviewing Christina Hollis. Sofia was visibly upset. "He kept
touching my feet," Hollis told her, voice quivering. Makes that lab work look fun.

About that virginity pledge: Sofia seemed baffled by Stacy's virginity pledge. "Did they have that at your school?"
she asked Sara. Later after they found boyfriend Scott Baird's bloody fingerprint under Stacy's car seat, Scott told Sofia
how he got Stacy to break that vow. "I told her I loved her and that nothing should get in the way of that not even God,"
he said. "I bet that worked," Sofia said. Darn right it did. But luckily for Scott, it also gave him an alibi.

Looking the part: Was it just me, or did Sofia look as tough as any of the guys at the rap party. Certainly, tougher than
Nick with his bangs.

A way with gangsters: Sofia had the chore of interviewing Sylvano Fatelli, who had a motive for the crime and whose MO
the bridesmaids had copied by dragging Mrs. Chase's body behind a car. He told Sofia that she was too pretty to be a cop and
added, "You want to crawl up I disagree? You can take a number." Luckily for her, he was quickly eliminated as a
suspect.
